It may seem that these are works of the first half of the twentieth century, but no. Rachel Deacon is our contemporary. She was born in 1969 and graduated from Chelsea College of Art (London) in 1991. Her work has been included in many exhibitions.
Her images emerge from a carefully selected story, poem, or other work from which she draws inspiration. Her works do not illustrate this text, but freely interpret it and convey a feeling or intent. She explores different sizes and compositions through drawings before presenting her take. Her “women” are self-confident and provocative and often convey the inner strength suggested in the text. Thanks to her inspiration, the paintings have a sense of narrative within them and are thoughtful or seductive.

Night… Easter… Isolation… Everything was mixed up in the house… And then our eyes caught a painting in the art deco style by artist Rachel Deacon! And we wanted to recreate the light flair of the atmosphere of the 20s of the last century! But, despite the apparent ease of the composition, we dare to assure you that constructing this masterpiece was not easy! Only the cat Boniface (in the world Bonya) passed the casting for the role of the pug! Meet the painting from the series “Softness and Strength”!
